My name is Yong-Long Lai

I was born on the 1st of November 1982, which makes me a Scorpio and my Chinese zodiac is the dog. I’m the second in he family and the only male, which means I am suppose to get some sort of ’special’ treatment etc. (which I don’t think I got)

I currently work in a bank in the field of Risk Management. Its quite interesting to be able to see how a bank works from behind the scene. My previous area of focus was the system side of Risk Management, where we get down on our hands and knees to try and figure out which screw is not in the right place or which one has fallen out etc. Its a HUGE task! especially with millions of screws! Now, I’m back to building credit risk models and working on a very cool project modelling the property finance portfolio. Find out more about what I’ve done on LinkedIn.

In my other life, I work hard observing and discovering tools that I need to conceive my masterpiece garden, to one day attract so many butterflies I can share it with others. Here’s a project I’m currently working on: Your Success Club

I also enjoy a drink once in a while (the reason for that is cause I’m what they call a ‘cadbury’) I my travelling experience I totally dislike people smoking during meal time! It really puts me off!

I currently live in Perth, looking at the map seems like one of the most secluded cities in the world. Perth is the place where people all over the world come to retire. The air is cleaner, the grass is greener, the sky is definitely bluer. People here are easy going and very friendly, just seems like the people in Perth really want to help. Personally I love it here!

I am not very well travelled, however I am very LUCKY! In March 2006 I won a trip for two to Mauritius from Hungry Jacks! (I never knew people actually win these competition!) Interestingly, I start going out with my girlfriend Jowy on Valentines 2006, somebody ‘up there’ must have had it all planned cause they really like me (thats what I like to think) – I don’t believe in coincidence, I think that we create our own destiny.

I’ve spent most of my childhood days in Perth and have been quite sheltered from the rest of the world. I hope to visit the seven wonders of the world within my life time and explore the secrets within the 7 continent in the world.I graduated from UWA in 2004 with Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce. The most important thing I have learnt from university is that everybody has the same chances in life. I started this “journey” on the 18th July 2006 when I made my biggest investment, I invested in education and became a 21st Century Academy Graduate. The difference between a successful person and an average person is CHOICE, the space between stimulus and response. This is my website which David Cavanagh, an Internet coach who show me how easy it is to create this website. (Wisdom equals the application of knoweldge). I have dedicated this site to record down my flight from zero to hero because I am prepared to “do today what others don’t, to have tomorrow what others won’t” – Johnny Wimbrey. I hope you will enjoy reading my discoveries as I journey into the unknown. I am certain the path I am about to take will inspire and enlighten some of you, so I hope our paths will cross sooner than later.
